Summer’s here so it’s flip flops and sandals at the ready

We tend to neglect our feet during the winter months. Hidden away in the cosy depths of Uggs and other winter attire, our feet are left to their own devices for 50% of the year, resulting in feet that are a little worse for wear.

With the shops bursting into colourful mules, sandals and flip flops it’s time to get pampering those tootsies ready to be on show.

To get feet as soft as a baby’s bottom, soak in hot soapy water for 10 minutes and follow with a scrub to remove dry, cracked skin.

Pat dry and apply a good, intensive moisturiser. Try our Intensive Rescue Heel Balm. Combining Tea Tree to act as an anti-septic to keep feet fresh and lots of skin softening ingredients such as Shea Butter and Vitamin E, its waxy type formula is super moisturising and will leave even the driest feet feeling soft and supple.

If the pennies are tight, you can use your normal body moisturiser, it will leave feet soft and smooth, however a good quality foot moisturiser will have a waxy feel to it which sinks deep into cracks in the skin.

For an intensive treatment, smother your feet in moisturiser and pop on a pair of old socks and leave on overnight. It’s not the most romantic look but your feet will feel softer than silk in the morning.

If you haven’t the time or the budget available to treat yourself to a pedicure, a DIY job at home will make all the difference. Adding a splash of colour will add a spring to your step and will make those new mules look all the better!

Invest in a neutral coloured varnish which will blend with every outfit, a soft pink or blushing peach will see you through a variety of outfits.

Summer foot care doesn’t need to be expensive. Feet respond quickly to short bursts of TLC so it doesn’t take long to get them looking groomed and glamorous. Go on, your new sandals deserve it!
