Regular readers will know that I am a huge fan of the Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden; I am always recommending it to friends and readers because there is nowhere else like it for spending a day with girlfriends, relaxing, have great treatments, eating good food (even having the odd glass of wine and fresh fruit smoothie). But for anyone who lives too far from London, the stress of getting home can undo all of the day’s good work. So I am delighted that there are now Sanctuary Boutique Spas open in Richmond, Cambridge and Bristol.

The three boutique and beautiful high-street spas might not be quite as huge as the original Covent Garden Day Spa (to be honest that is the largest day spa in Europe) but think of them as offering the very best of the rest including beautiful, billowy curtained and squishy bedded chill out Lavender Lounges, the latest treatments including the much talked about Lava Shell Massage (which is brilliant to boost a sluggish circulation and lymph drainage), as well as the Sanctuary signature treatments, an uber luxe Carita menu of facials and the uber effective and troubleshooting Environ menu of cosmeceutical treatments.

Naturally each is stunningly chic in dark woods and cream leather, glistening mosaic tiles, sumptuous velvet recliners, all in a mix of lavender, purple, chocolates and beiges; this really is how we all want out bathrooms to look at home if money was no object and space was limitless. Ah we can all dream.

The result is that you can cherry pick the best Sanctuary Covent Garden treatments but stay close to home. Treatments on offer include Sanctuary skin spa treatments including the Sanctuary Prescription facial, Warming Herbal Compress Facial and Carita Radiance facial (my favourite), the signature Sanctuary Body Treatments including Aromatherapy Rose Cocoon, Sanctuary Hot Sugar Scrub, and Trim & Tone Body Wrap (perfect for pre summer body prep), you can have a champagne nail bar manicure, try the cutting edge Sanctuary Visia skin analysis and diagnosis with the high tech camera that can detect fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, redness and dehydration, then receive a personalised prescription of products and treatments to help solve any problems and continue your pampering at home.

And for anyone who wants to take that next step you can try the latest high tech injectibles including Botox, Dermaroller Therapy and fillers (Currently Bristol only) and IPL light therapy treatments to reverse sun damage and pigmentation, zap away broken veins and permanently remove excess hair from face and body, before having waxing, brow and lash grooming, safe tanning and a full make up. These three new Sanctuary Boutique Spas really are a one stop beauty shop, spa and pamper palace. And because they all come under the Sanctuary name you know you are in safe hands. Now my only question is when are the Sanctuary going to open some more? And the answer is soon, they promise me, they are on the lookout for new locations all over the UK, so watch this space.
