As the recession takes a hold on us all, it seems that us girls aren’t sacrificing our need for a little pampering…

As independent research carried out by Clarins shows, women are spending a massive £4billion a year on pampering and we’re not letting a little thing such as a recession scupper our regimes.

With 60% of you reckoning that looking your best is one of the most important things in your life and the average woman in the UK spending over £25k in her lifetime on beauty products it’s clear to see that feeling good about yourself is as important as ever.

With all the bad news we’re subjected to at the moment on a daily basis it seems pampering is offering us girlies a little escapism and that all important feel good factor.

So have you ever wondered who spends how much on what? Well, Londoners are all about futuristic facials it seems and are spending a massive three times as much as girls in Bristol, whilst those in bonny Newcastle are keen on Botox and those based in Liverpool are missing a little sun in there, as 66% of you use fake tan up to five times a month!

Whatever your vice, it seems you’re determined to stay looking gorgeous and glamorous whatever the world throws at you and why not? A little pampering can go a long way…‘Now where did I leave my appointment book?’

Easter is here which means a long weekend, hurrah!

With Easter just around the corner the lucky ones will have a long weekend away planned (if you don’t, there’s still time to hint for one!) so invest in a cute travel bag which contains everything you need to stay groomed and glamorous on your weekend away.

For those of you with some spare time on your hands, why not plan a pamper day? Choose your favourite Sanctuary goodies, lock the bathroom door and lie back and relax. Emerge from the bathroom a new woman… sleek, smooth and utterly pampered!

‘Chance would be a fine thing I hear you shouting!’ If you have people of the smaller variety to entertain, why not arrange an Easter Egg hunt? An hour of fun for them, a minute or two’s peace for you! Perfect.

So if you can’t face the roads (or probably the rain) this Easter then a pamper day is definitely what the Doctor ordered.

Now where did I leave that ‘Do not disturb’ sign?…
