28 DAY MOISTURE CHALLENGE RESULTS ARE IN!

Prepare to bare your skin this summer, with the new Ultra Rich Body Butter!

I have been looking for the ultimate moisturiser most of my life, one I can use to keep my skin hydrated. I find that when my skin is dry, this irritates my eczema and I have to resort to those smelly, sticky, horrible (but yes – effective) prescribed creams from my Doctor. I have tried many lotions and potions off the high street to keep dryness at bay, most of which I can say irritate or soak up too quickly, leaving my skin feeling dry and uncomfortable.

So, imagine my excitement when I was given the task of performing our very own 28 day moisture challenge, to gain real users thoughts on the new Sanctuary Ultra Rich Body Butter!

What it claims to do:
Crammed full of moisture boosting ingredients, the Ultra Rich Body Butter will melt quickly into distressed skin, leaving extra dry and dehydrated skin looking and feeling soft and smooth. The ultimate skin treat.

How we tested it:
For 28 days 17 of The Sanctuary team and their close friends and family, who particularly suffer from very dry skin, have been trialling the brand new Ultra Rich Body Butter. It has been great fun trying the product, and very interesting to read the feedback but is now time to share all of our results with you!

Nearly 30% of our trialists had suffered from dry skin for most or all of their life with nearly 60% of all trialists saying that their dry skin affects the way they dress. 53% of trialists said that their dry skin was seasonal, mostly caused by the effects of winter and legs were the worst suffering part of the body.

Throughout the challenge we asked trialists to rate the dryness of their skin. 10 being the most dry and dehydrated and 1 being the most hydrated.

To begin with 94% of trialists had very dry skin, rating their skin dryness 5 or above.

After the full 4 weeks 100% of trialists rated their skin dryness 5 or below – 91% rating their skin dryness as an amazing 1!

Overall the feedback has been amazing. After just 1 week Louise Perry said “Overnight improvement! Just using this butter once made my skin feel differently for a few days afterwards, it felt smoother and more supple the next morning. The best thing is it feels very intense but it sinks into the skin super quick, so great to slather on before bed!” Louise first rated her skin dryness as 8, but this went down to 3 at the end of the challenge, when she added “The best thing about this product is it doesn’t feel heavy, cloggy medicated cream, yet it really delivers moisturisation.”

Tricia O’Donnell – who like Louise, rated her skin dryness as 8 before the challenge – has always suffered from dry skin and alternated between a mix of Dove and Body Shop moisturisers as sometimes found one quite thick and sometimes would find the other absorbed too quickly. After 1 week she said, “I noticed a difference straight away.” At the end of the 4 weeks, Tricia has rated her skin dryness as a 3 and has said that her skin is much softer. She says “My skin overall is much better. The product has been really successful and I will continue to use it.”

Jayne Lawn found fantastic results. After having problem dry skin for over 12 years – particularly on her legs, she rated her skin dryness as 8 or 9 to start the challenge. Once Jayne completed the trial she rated her skin as an incredible 1 – the most hydrated – and said “My dry legs are gone. My skin is soft and I love the silky feel my legs have. There is such an improvement in them!”

Sabrina McDermott also found dramatic results, starting the trial rating her skin as a 9 and finishing the trial rating her skin as 1. She says, “over the years I have used many products which claim to treat dry skin (Vaseline intensive care, Dove or Avon products being the main ones) and after several months of using the products my skin felt softer but if there were some occasions where I forgot to use the products it only took a few days for my skin to return to it’s original condition. With the Sanctuary Ultra Rich Body Butter my skin is SO soft but even to look at you can notice the difference & due to going on holiday there were several days that I didn’t use it and my skin did not deteriorate back to its dry condition which is a HUGE plus.”

At the end of the challenge, 100% of trialists said that they would definitely recommend this product to someone with dry skin.

Personally, I found the Ultra Rich Body Butter instantly relieves dryness, making my skin feel soft and supple and looking healthy. After regular use my skin actually feels like skin – not scales! I found my skin to be much softer and brighter, with a healthy glow. I will definitely be using more of this product at home!

If you’ve tried the Ultra Rich Body Butter we would love to hear your thoughts so feel free to leave a review online or contact the product team with any feedback or questions, at product.enquiries@thesanctuary.co.uk and let us know your thoughts.
