Sanctuary Therapist Tip:                                                                                                                                                STEP 1 - Close your eyes and take deep slow breaths, making each breath even deeper than the last. This deep breathing from
the abdomen rather than the upper chest increases the level of oxygen inhaled. The more oxygen you get, the less tense, short of breath and anxious you feel. Continue for 10 breaths.
STEP 2 - Apply onto dry skin for a more intense exfoliation.
STEP 3 - Use a pressure point massage which is easy to replicate at home:
· Place your thumb in the middle of the inner p#ve insomnia, anxiety and a racing mind.
· Reach behind your head and place both thumbs at the base of your skull. Applying gentle pressure to this point can help relieve insomnia and tension.
STEP 4 - Close your eyes and imagine a place or activity that is calming and peaceful to you, concentrate on how relaxed this place or activity makes you feel. Having a notepad and pen by your bed to write down any worries and ‘things to do’ can also help you release tension and fully relax.
